Did you know that living in the Litchfield area, you will have a Pawleys Island, SC address ? **Just thought I would give you that "tidbit" of knowledge...Also, there is a difference between "Pawleys Island Mainland" and living "ON" on Pawleys Island? If you live "ON" the island, "the homeowners" have their own mayor, police force, however, if you live on the "MAINLAND" which is where the majority of the residents live, then this is considered "IN THE COUNTY" and you don't have to pay CITY property taxes. Our taxes are VERY LOW in comparison to other areas where you have to pay city and county taxes. Our county is GEORGETOWN COUNTY. Myrtle Beach is in HORRY COUNTY.
Here is another "did you know"...As of August 11, 2010 there are approximately 500 homes for sale in Pawleys Island and Litchfield neighborhoods.
